Kell One: The name “Kell” belongs to Steve and Francie Kell, and “One” refers to an undivided, single focus.
There are many things about this world that deserve honor and respect. The food that you eat should take a place of honor in your life, and the body that you act with in this world, likewise, should be honored.
Our small farming adventure began in 2011 with 30 meat chickens in a suburban backyard. Inspired by the documentary “Food, Inc.” and specifically, Joel Salatin of Polyface Farm, we raised them in a portable pen that daily moved to fresh grass. From there, we expanded to more meat chickens, followed by egg layers, Icelandic sheep, and in 2018, our first two pigs. This past summer, we added a dairy feeder to round out the mix.
We believe we are all built for a life of integrity, love and joy. As such, we give our animals the best lives we possibly can, raising them on pasture with access to fresh air, sunshine and space to roam and graze. In turn, the food they then provide is, in our opinion, some of the very best out there. Fuel your body with food that is good for you, for the animal, and for the earth.
